SEA-Tech High School
SEA-TECH is a career and technical education high school for students in the Wilmington Metro/Cape Fear Region (New Hanover County and Pender County). From exploring careers to learning specific skills and credentials for a career,
SEA-TECH can offer a very unique technical education experience. While students attend SEA-Tech, they can also earn college credit thanks to their partnership with Cape Fear Community College. SEA-Tech offers a four and five-year track and once the students graduate, they will not only have a high school diploma but also a certificate or two-year associates degree.
Students can pick from seven programs: School leaders have narrowed SEA-TECH’s programs to seven areas of study: small business and entrepreneurship; residential and commercial construction; computer and network engineering; advanced manufacturing; hospitality and tourism; health science and public service; and transportation and logistics.
Within those topics are more than 60 career pathways, from marine technology to culinary arts to boat building. In fact, students can pursue any program offered by Cape Fear that’s not age-restricted. SEA-TECH needs business partners: A key part of the school’s curriculum is giving students mentoring, job shadowing, internships, and other opportunities through the industries of Southeastern North Carolina. School leaders are asking businesses to partner with the school by calling 910-362-7882 or emailing ctehsinfo@NHCS.net.
Cape Fear Trustee Ann David said these partner businesses will be helping to educate their future workforce.
